CAFCO SprayFilm WB 7 / ISOLATEK Type WB 7 Intumescent Fire Resistive Material (IFRM) is a new water-based, intumescent coating designed for the fire protection of interior structural steel.

CAFCO SprayFilm WB 7 / ISOLATEK Type WB 7 introduces new levels of coverage and competitive thickness requirements in the industry. The technological improvements introduced by Type WB 7 also allows for easier application and a more environmentally friendly product.

CAFCO SprayFilm WB 7 / ISOLATEK Type WB 7 provides architects the ability to design using steel that can be decorative and aesthetically pleasing. It can be top coated to match its surroundings and allows steel to be left exposed to view while providing the required fire resistance rating.

Product Uses

Fire Tests & Approvals

In order to meet the performance and durability criteria set forth by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and other major industry specifying organizations, CAFCO SprayFilm WB 7 / ISOLATEK® Type WB 7 has undergone the most rigorous testing in accordance with the world’s most demanding safety protocols.

Cellulosic – BS476: Part 20: 1987 – Method of Determination of the fire resistance of elements construction – Fire Resistance Tests, General Requirements

This cellulosic fire test is traditionally used to evaluate materials for use in the protection of modern day commercial structures. This test reaches 576°C (1069°F) after 5 minutes and gradually reaches a temperature of 1153°C (2107°F) after a period of up to 2 hours.

CAFCO SprayFilm WB 7 / ISOLATEK Type WB 7 has been evaluated in accordance with BS476: Parts 20-21: 1987 for periods up to 2 hours on beams and columns which is listed within a UL assessment report.
