ISOLATEK SBK-113 is a ready mixed latex emulsion designed for use as a sealer/keycoat for direct-applied passive fire protection (PFP) systems. Formulated to improve bond along with pH barrier control, ISOLATEK SBK-113 is used when structural steel surfaces contain unsuitable pre-existing protective primers and coatings. This multi-purpose product will seal against potential adverse effects that could result from application to these surfaces.
ISOLATEK SBK-113 contributes to the long lasting in-place performance of the complete PFP system and provides the enhanced bond for Isolatek International’s wet spray, cement based fire resistive materials.
ISOLATEK SBK-113 dries quickly and is easily identifiable due to its light yellow color. ISOLATEK SBK-113 is low VOC and contains no mercury, lead, or chromate ingredients. It is packaged in 100% recyclable plastic containers.
Benefits
- Ensures proper bond between the substrate and CAFCO® / ISOLATEK wet spray, cement based, spray applied fire resistive materials.
As a component of the Isolatek PFP system, ISOLATEK SBK-113 promotes bonding for long lasting in place performance. - Seals existing coatings to eliminate any potential adverse effects from SFRM application.
Any potential chemical reactions between the fireproofing material and incompatible coatings is eliminated with the use of ISOLATEK SBK-113. - Efficient application with fast dry times.
Application is via airless or air-assisted sprayer, lambswool roller or brush with fast dry time. - Easily identifiable light yellow color.
Structural components coated with ISOLATEK SBK-113 are easily identified due to its light yellow color. - Environmentally friendly contents and packaging.
Contains no mercury, lead, or chromate ingredients and is low VOC. Packaged in recyclable containers.
Product Uses
The value of the ISOLATEK SBK-113 lies in commercial construction projects where the structural steel is primed and used in conjunction with CAFCO 400 / ISOLATEK Type 400 or CAFCO FENDOLITE® M-II & TG / ISOLATEK Type M-II & TG cement-based Spray-Applied Fire Resistive Material. These two products used in tandem and applied over existing primers will result in a robust and long lasting fire protection system backed by Isolatek International’s outstanding track record of high performance products.
