Product Uses
Albi Cote FRL-X is recommended as a decorative finish for the protection for the protection of combustible surfaces such as eaves, wood, fiberboard, plywood, or particle board, and as supplementary low flame spread and low smoke density protection when applied to plaster, gypsum wallboard, or cinder block. Albi Cote FRL-X is specially designed for application to combustible areas of public assembly such as restaurants, nursing homes, schools, corridors, stairwells, and similar areas where odor-free, quick drying features are desired.

Test for Surface Burning Characteristics of Building Materials
Test Methods for Surface Burning Characteristics of Building Materials, such as UL 723, ULC S102, and ASTM E84 evaluates how materials contribute to flame spread and smoke generation when exposed to fire. Conducted in a 25-foot tunnel furnace (Steiner Tunnel), the test measures two key indices: the Flame Spread Index (FSI), which indicates the rate at which flames travel across the material’s surface, and the Smoke Developed Index (SDI), which reflects the density of smoke produced. Results are compared against reference materials and classified into performance groups (Class A, B, or C), providing critical data for building code compliance on interior finishes.

UL Classification Mark
The UL Classification Mark indicates compliance with global requirements as it relates to a specific risk or casualty.
