The Wisconsin Center Expansion Project is a joint venture by Gilbane and C.D. Smith overseeing the construction of the Wisconsin Center Expansion Project. Designed by Milwaukee’s Eppstein Uhen Architects and Atlanta’s TVs design, the expansion to the convention center will double the square footage of the existing design. The $456 million expansion will add 24 meeting rooms, 400 indoor parking spaces, six loading docks, an additional kitchen, a rooftop ballroom, and a conference area with outdoor terraces for 2,000 people that can also be converted into smaller meeting spaces. A skywalk will connect the buildings.
Construction broke ground in late October and remains on track for an early 2024 completion.
Once completed, the Wisconsin Center Expansion project will have created more than 1,150 on-site construction jobs and annually attract 100,000 visitors to Milwaukee. The expansion will also make Milwaukee a more competitive convention destination.

ANI-Midwest Fireproofing applied each product to the structural steel, decking, and steel beams at the Wisconsin Center Expansion.

Exceptionally high recycled content (67% pre-consumer) and other environmentally friendly characteristics provide significant LEED credits. The high thermal and acoustic properties provide thermal insulation, reducing heating costs and noise, which benefits cost savings. These exceptional features are part of why CAFCO BLAZE-SHIELD II was selected to provide the required fire resistance ratings.
