Isolatek International’s CAFCO 300 HS and CAFCO 400 Spray-Applied Fireproofing Materials (SFRMs) were selected to protect two separate high-profile structures going up at the Boston Seaport, Fan Pier Parcel E and Seaport Square Block L4. Project design teams specified high strength commercial and medium density fireproofing materials on both projects to meet Building Code requirements. Island International Industries New England, LLC, one of Isolatek International’s long-standing Recognized Applicators, is applying the CAFCO SFRMs to both mid-rise structures. Both products offer the most cost-effective fire resistance performance per unit thickness, the highest physical properties available, and provides the necessary resistance ratings on the structural steel members.
The Seaport District has been thriving since 2010. It has added 7.2 million square feet of space which housed many large brand companies like General Electric, Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Reebok, and Gillette.
